Life in Sydney has been pleasant thus far. I was wandering around in town again and for just a moment, I felt so... alive? It was during that short period that everything I saw and felt became that bit more colourful and acute. It was as though my senses got a sudden boost and the feeling was exhilarating. I don't really know how to explain so I thought I'd try by posting some pictures that hopefully translate that feeling to you peeps reading this entry.
Sydney has reached new heights ever since I came here. A max of 42 degrees celsius! Woah... My only complete rest day and I had to suffer like this. Thankfully it started off cooler in the morning and that was when I completed most of my agenda of the day.
Carpe diem was definitely not the motto of the day for Sydney's city slickers. It was only until midday when the crowd started going. Nothing spectacular at all to be honest. I must make it a point to take more photos of the minute details of life on my next outing. I had hoped to get more shots of Sydney's famed Paddy's Market and its daily affairs but I was pressed for time, and besides, taking photos with a week's worth of groceries was not easy! I will be posting some more photos of various attractions in Sydney in the coming weeks so stay tuned... Finally, my stapler has been put to better use than putting my lecture notes together! Craig Ferris showed us some ol' skool method of altering the sail shape with staples.
Hey all, just want to let you know that I'm in my last few hours of studying for year 2009! Whee! I'm so gloating...
Political issues are not what this website is about and it will be kept to a minimum. On this occasion however, I must break the rule.
Sadly SM Goh's has come out to deliver one of our government's way of swaying the citizens. By using a much-loved figure (or a scapegoat for PAP in case it goes wrong), the government tries to influence the public whom aren't able to critique the flaws in his arguments. However, I am heartened by the amount of response generated through the article on !Yahoo. Check it out y'all! Haha.. Sorry. I just couldn't help it. Ris Low is a legend!
My revision for Psychology has been going fine. Geology? Shingz... Geography? Shoomz. My geology exam is tomorrow and I just managed to finish reading through the lecture notes. I barely understand what I'm reading so it's basically screwed for me. On top of that, it's my first exam in 4 years! That's a long time to be out of action. Oh well, I guess I'll have to dodge whatever flies my way tomorrow. I'm just thinking if I should go for a run before the exam in the arvo. Does exercise stimulate brain activity? I do feel sleepy after the running high though. Hmmm... Some food for thought. Sandro Del-Prete is a well-known artist who paints pictures with impossible concepts. There's nothing impossible about the image above but it is an ambiguous picture painted by him nonetheless. Now, some of you interpreted it as a male and female being intimate. Answer? True. However, that answer is of those less virginal. HAHA! Congratulations on growing up. Mommy will be so proud! Children or people, pure in heart and mind, would see dolphins instead. Yup. Dolphins. Can you spot them? A professor said that the time it takes for one to spot the dolphins is inversely proportional to one's purity of the soul. Good luck spotting the dolphins! This second image is an illusion. For those who said that the centre pieces of the crosses are blue and yellow respectively are somewhat correct. I suggest a visit to the optometrist is due for those who said otherwise (*Cough-Mel-Cough!). The real answer is that the two centre pieces are exactly the same shade and colour. When we isolate those two pieces as seen below, you can see that it is actually grey!
Before I start messing around with you, I have to let this out. CHAO AH TIONGS!!! Damn it. So damn noisy. They sure know how to stir Mr Hyde out of me. It was extremely uncomfortable for me. Their crime? Talking out loud in the library. The best part was they were right beside each other. Must be deaf... ARGH! I really almost lost it which is unlike me. Just blogging about it makes me... ARGH!!!! No words to describe it!
Right. Moving on, today's revision is pretty interesting. Perception. Here's an interesting website for you to play with. It's about how we are able to differentiate women from men and moods. Have a play around! Click me! Below are a couple images that are quite interesting. Post comments of what you see! I will update the blog shortly with the answers. I wonder which smart-arse from ACS(I) thought of naming the compulsory-after-school-study - Concentration Camp. Sure, it was terrible enough to be forced to go, but why give such a dreadful name? Thankfully, those days are long past... or not.
Mugging has never been my kind of thing and I doubt it ever will be. Slacking is nothing to be proud of and definitely not the way to go when you are in Uni. Therefore, these few weeks have been a real boot camp for me. I don't think I have ever dedicated 8 hours a day to studying before. It's a good thing psychology is interesting... |
