Last week Terence and I visited his friend Pei Ming, and his baby Tessa (mommy Linda went out for a bit). Initially I wasn't sure how I would respond to an infant who is barely 2 months old, because I would expect that at that stage all babies look like babies (i.e. how adorable can they be?) And in case you're wondering, in Early Childhood I only interacted with BRATZ. But in one word, Tessa was SO precious. The feeling of cradling a baby is entirely different from the obligatory and super sian ooh-ing and ahh-ing you are sometimes forced into when new parents show off their baby's pictures. Well in short, I probably was very in the zone, so much so that Bency told Pei Ming that if I ever declare that I want a baby right after that visit, he will come after him. Hahaha.. Well, as you will see from the photo, Terence seems quite cut out to be a dad also. It's all good. Awesome offspring coming your way summer of 2017 (or earlier!) HAHAHA. Good midweek everybody!
Sometimes, you just have to not overthink things, not overanticipate, and just GO FOR IT, and that's when you will really have the most fun, be happiest and have the best surprises. I'm so glad I did that today. Agenda: Attend Janet's wedding solemnization, followed by dinner at Singapore Swimming Club to celebrate daddy's birthday. I was so moved by the solemnization ceremony that I teared up, and it really made me think that God's love isn't necessarily always felt in a religious setting. It can be everywhere, and when you least expect it it just envelopes, embraces you. And I didn't realise it, but I have been needing that for some time now. More photos soon. Had one of daddy cutting his cake, which weebly decided it didn't want to load fully. So. Tomorrow marks the first day of a resurgence of CNY visitations/gatherings, which I like to call "The Final Dash" in my head (what Valentine's Day? Never 'eard of it).
Have a good week! Hieeeeee. Photos of Sydney Part 1. I think I have quite a number, so these are just from the day after I landed, which is Christmas eve! :) Hahaha… Am very bad at updating this space don't you think? Ah well, but you see, I AM BACK!!!!!! And no, I'm not going to discuss CNY as if it is over, because today is only Day 6 of celebrations!! Although it's quite boring already cos everyone is back to school/work, and no one wishes anyone else HAPPY NEW YEAR *smiles anymore, I am steadily continuing to wear 1 new outfit everyday, WITHOUT FAIL, and without being lazy halfway and changing into something old and comfortable. I am very serious about this New Year because it's the Year of the Wabbit, and despite hearing all sorts of shit about it not being a particularly HUAT year, I'm like, HOW CAN IT BE?! The Rabbit silhouette is so nice in those cut‐outs and decorations, confirm must be the most HUAT of all the animals in the horoscope!!! But you know, I was almost convinced. At the table with my cousins (I think one horse, one snake, one goat and one dunno‐what), Terence and I lost quite a bit of money and kept on getting bad cards in in‐between!!! I managed to recover some towards the end, but not sure if it covered my earlier losses. As for Terence, he became rather pauperous after (HAHAHA geddit?! Instead of prosperous he became pauperous HAHAHA)!!! During another round with my all‐wabbit friends, it didn't seem much better (for them), although it was ok for me (which I gather to be because I tipped Mr. Mcdelivery, so perhaps was rewarded). And the best part was that they all claimed that their luck was already much improved from the day before, when their cards were so bad they became VERY amused and just laughed at their hands instead of being shocked. My goodness. And in case you haven't realised, by the next time the cycle reaches us Wabbits, we will all disgustingly be 36 years old, which is like, SUPER AUNTY AND UNCLE age, and therefore we better make the best of our 2011. So, NEVER let others dictate how your lives will unfold. Who say not huat?!!! DAMN HUAT!!! Today, I had a really good taste of what it's like to make things happen, and I'm so happy (incredible thanks to all those who helped me out) and optimistic! Ok, till the next :) |
