Amy Winehouse has really gone too soon. And I think she would love nothing more for people who enjoy her music to keep on having fun. So now, I'm going to sing and dance to Valerie, just like I used to do on weekends past. I hope she's in a better place. She was a smokin' lady.

I don't think anyone would believe how sporty I've been today. No, not shopping olympics. We woke up really late into the afternoon, then decided to go bowling. And because I skipped my caffeine fix yesterday, I was so DYING for some coffee when we chanced upon this place where they had some set meals with free flow coffee ok. Out of the dispenser kind, and quite nice!! So after being very smugly zinged up (just me; Bency went to make himself a fail float. As in, ice cream float but damn alot of bubbles everywhere and he couldn't find his ice cream cos it didn't float HAHAHAA), we went bowling!!! This was our second venture into the alley recently, and we played 2 games. My goal was to up my score from the previous time of a very measly 63, while I guess TK, being the sportsperson that he is, was aiming to keep striking. So ah... to cut the long story short, I think we both found our individual grooves (he does some tiny butt lift thingey before releasing the ball while I found a lower, more comfortable angle) and his best score was 143, mine 94. YAY what an improvement!!!! Damn fun... the feeling of achievement when you spare is quite satisfying. Of course TK wasn't toooooo pleased with his overall but I dunno him la. He had some sick 4 strikes in a row kinda moments lor. Ok then we went back to chill for abit before the Tour de France live screening began for the day. Usually TK will go to the living room and watch with his dad, while I go into food coma in the room and do some reading/surfing the net but I went out to watch today also cos the cyclists were going to do very steep hill climbs. And it was pretty exciting!!! Cos I want to be very random and bimbo, the past few days I've been trying to find some cyclist to support based on either nice name/ face shape very nice/ nice jersey colour/ must not have a past or pending doping allegation against him. But I couldn't settle on one la, and plus the names are damn confusing ok like Cavendish then Contador then Cancellara. But today, I decided that for the rest of the Tour I'm going to support the Schleck brothers!!!!! Cos they like, kept looking out for each other during the race wah so sweet (cue Terence rolling his eyes. He's terrible)!!!! Of course it helps that they are quite pro and not ugly la. But I don't want to google them in case up close and without their sunnies they quite ugly, and then I'll have to find new people to support sigh. HAHAHAHAHAA. And finally, we went running after. Initially, part of why I wanted to watch the TDF today also was because I wanted to inspire myself to greater heights. Like you know, after I see the cyclists huffing and puffing and gritting their teeth at the last lap I would perhaps breeze through today's run mentally with the picture of them in mind. SORRY ok, omg the run was pretty tough. On Tuesday we just started and we ran one round around the neighbourhood (I cannot give the distance exactly cos TK doesn't have his GPS with him). Yesterday we did 2.5 rounds, and today 3. And during the first round already I had to use the image of the cyclists to push myself. Second round I had to visualize the sushi awaiting me in the fridge after, and by the time third round came I think I was just concentrating on finishing. Or just putting my next foot forward. We're not training for any event in particular, but like TK said, "kaki is so important". And really, without him I really wouldn't push myself so hard. I tell myself ridiculous things like, I cannot start walking if not he'll think I'm a lousy girlfriend! Hahaha and it works la. I'm so happy now sitting on the bed typing this, cos I know I did enough to deserve to laze :) Ok, so this is my sporty day ahaha! I have photos from bowling but no cardreader... so ah, just some outdated photos! This from the day of my final paper, and on my sister's birthday celebration! LOOK!!!! SO PRETTY RIGHT!!!! And Hui baked it ok!! I mean, the rainbow colours were supposed to be horizontal layers but I really think this is much cooler. And I had very high expectations, I thought the purple part would be grape flavour, pink strawberry, and so on. HAHAAH no la it's all just vanilla. But omg. My cousin. SO clever!! It's been a REALLY long time, and I thought it would be great to make a return exactly 2 months after my last entry where I was still slogging it out in the last semester of my undergraduate life. Time passes amazingly quickly, and I can't believe it's been 2 solid months of slacking already!!! Been bumming around with my homie Bency, and we're having good fun :) Interspersed between our silly antics are some very serious, thought-provoking moments though, and I would single out watching Schindler's List as one of them.
If you haven't caught it, you should, and it might not change your life, but I highly recommend it if you're sort of just going through life and finding everything so challengingly DULL. I think it's been more than a week since watching it, but everyday I'm still trying to remind myself not to complain, and be grateful for the liberties we have. I mean, not that I did a 180 and managed to be all, OMG!! IT'S SO HOT I LOVE IT! PERSPIRATION MAKES ME FEEL ALIVE!!! But it's really more of a, yes it's hot but so what everyone else is battling the heat too and I can just go to the supermarket to get a cold drink kinda thing. Just an example. But really, watch it and you'll see. And, you will probably thank whichever God you worship that you were born in THIS time and age, instead of those past. Ok, so I broke my cardreader a couple weeks back so I can't upload more recent photos, but I don't want to be all wordy on those of you still reading (HI SHAF!!!!) so a continuation from Sydney 2010-2011 for now till I drag my ass to Challenger to replace it. And and and, I'M GRADUATING SOON!!!!!!!!!! Next post I'll have some MBS photos up! Quite sad that I tried making a comeback with an awesomely long post, but lost it all because the weebly site decided to hang on me. But I guess, that was the only "unlucky" thing to happen to me this Friday the 13th so that's ok. I will be back with some photos, but in the meantime, do click on the following link and laugh your heads off. Please don't take the moral highground and tell me I'm unsympathetic and heartless. It's funny, and she wants to be a human circus so I'm just helping her spread her name. Ok, till the next (promise that will be very very soon!!!!)
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1386352/Chelsea-Charms-woman-largest-breasts-world--164XXX--appears-This-Morning.html The awesome basement. There was this book, propped up and wide open, on sex positions illustrated. And all I was thinking was, lady do YOU need a wax. Haahahahaha... Terence and I should have had our lunch here instead. So quiet and contained and books are yellower and nicer-smelling than those upstairs. I call this air-writing, because I don't know the proper term for it. At first we kept laughing at the pilot and said that he couldn't spell FUTURE. But after a rather long time, we realised it was publicity for FUTURAMA MUSIC FEST or something to that effect. I'm also thinking, the part of 'U' where he flies vertically straight up must be damn scary!! And this is how we spent our time waiting for the bus back home, yes, with our necks craned towards the sky like two sillies. After which upon reaching, Bency proceeded to fall asleep immediately while I read my new pre-loved (OOOOOOOOHHHHH OXYMORON!!!!) book hahahaha. Then when he woke up from his nap, I decided to force him to tan with me in the room, I on Shelley, he on the bed. And after awhile all he did was direct me like this: "Dear. Head higher." "Dear move to the left" "No dear. Don't turn yet. 5 more minutes." Act wanna ensure I get an even tan but actually just distracting me while he moved further and further into the shade tsk. HAHAHAHA. And this is how we spend our arvos. And yes, my memory is damn spectacular tanks everybardi tanks!!!!!!! *does Barbarella wave
I believe it's officially autumn in Australia now, and perhaps just about time I start missing Sydney again. So far the feeling is fleeting (maybe because Terence is here with me), and I wouldn't say I'm keen on the winters, but here are more photos from 2010 (before Christmas, I think) which would probably clue you in as to why I'm very attached to the place :) Till the next! He was looking for something in the toiletries drawer, found his gel from godknowswhen and got distracted from his original task, decided to try to slick all his hair for a new look, made me take this photo, laughed at himself in the mirror, then washed it all off. All these in 5 minutes. Hahaha.. yup. We're random like that. Last week Terence and I visited his friend Pei Ming, and his baby Tessa (mommy Linda went out for a bit). Initially I wasn't sure how I would respond to an infant who is barely 2 months old, because I would expect that at that stage all babies look like babies (i.e. how adorable can they be?) And in case you're wondering, in Early Childhood I only interacted with BRATZ. But in one word, Tessa was SO precious. The feeling of cradling a baby is entirely different from the obligatory and super sian ooh-ing and ahh-ing you are sometimes forced into when new parents show off their baby's pictures. Well in short, I probably was very in the zone, so much so that Bency told Pei Ming that if I ever declare that I want a baby right after that visit, he will come after him. Hahaha.. Well, as you will see from the photo, Terence seems quite cut out to be a dad also. It's all good. Awesome offspring coming your way summer of 2017 (or earlier!) HAHAHA. Good midweek everybody!
Sometimes, you just have to not overthink things, not overanticipate, and just GO FOR IT, and that's when you will really have the most fun, be happiest and have the best surprises. I'm so glad I did that today. Agenda: Attend Janet's wedding solemnization, followed by dinner at Singapore Swimming Club to celebrate daddy's birthday. I was so moved by the solemnization ceremony that I teared up, and it really made me think that God's love isn't necessarily always felt in a religious setting. It can be everywhere, and when you least expect it it just envelopes, embraces you. And I didn't realise it, but I have been needing that for some time now. More photos soon. Had one of daddy cutting his cake, which weebly decided it didn't want to load fully. So. Tomorrow marks the first day of a resurgence of CNY visitations/gatherings, which I like to call "The Final Dash" in my head (what Valentine's Day? Never 'eard of it).
Have a good week! Hieeeeee. Photos of Sydney Part 1. I think I have quite a number, so these are just from the day after I landed, which is Christmas eve! :) Hahaha… Am very bad at updating this space don't you think? Ah well, but you see, I AM BACK!!!!!! And no, I'm not going to discuss CNY as if it is over, because today is only Day 6 of celebrations!! Although it's quite boring already cos everyone is back to school/work, and no one wishes anyone else HAPPY NEW YEAR *smiles anymore, I am steadily continuing to wear 1 new outfit everyday, WITHOUT FAIL, and without being lazy halfway and changing into something old and comfortable. I am very serious about this New Year because it's the Year of the Wabbit, and despite hearing all sorts of shit about it not being a particularly HUAT year, I'm like, HOW CAN IT BE?! The Rabbit silhouette is so nice in those cut‐outs and decorations, confirm must be the most HUAT of all the animals in the horoscope!!! But you know, I was almost convinced. At the table with my cousins (I think one horse, one snake, one goat and one dunno‐what), Terence and I lost quite a bit of money and kept on getting bad cards in in‐between!!! I managed to recover some towards the end, but not sure if it covered my earlier losses. As for Terence, he became rather pauperous after (HAHAHA geddit?! Instead of prosperous he became pauperous HAHAHA)!!! During another round with my all‐wabbit friends, it didn't seem much better (for them), although it was ok for me (which I gather to be because I tipped Mr. Mcdelivery, so perhaps was rewarded). And the best part was that they all claimed that their luck was already much improved from the day before, when their cards were so bad they became VERY amused and just laughed at their hands instead of being shocked. My goodness. And in case you haven't realised, by the next time the cycle reaches us Wabbits, we will all disgustingly be 36 years old, which is like, SUPER AUNTY AND UNCLE age, and therefore we better make the best of our 2011. So, NEVER let others dictate how your lives will unfold. Who say not huat?!!! DAMN HUAT!!! Today, I had a really good taste of what it's like to make things happen, and I'm so happy (incredible thanks to all those who helped me out) and optimistic! Ok, till the next :) |
